Persian Ghazvin 11x13

Also referred to as Qazvin, these rugs originated in the Persian region of the same name. Weaving in this area reflected other famous Persian weaving centers at the time including nearby Kashan. While not entirely original in design, the painstaking craftsmanship of the knotting and quality of the wool brings attention to this collector's item.

This contemporary Ghazvin rug explores the intricate floral and vase motif, with the border expanding from the edge toward the center of the rug, a unique approach to featuring an eight-pointed medallion. The blood-red backdrop beautifully features a detailed design.
