Description
Centrally located in Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, Tabriz was established as one of the Persian Empire’s largest cities and trade destinations for centuries. A distinction of the hand-knotted Tabriz rug is the higher than typical knot density per square meter that ensures quality and precision far exceeding the density of most other Persian pieces.

An exemplary display of craftsmanship and artisanship, the Tabriz design centers around a medallion surrounded by intricate garden motifs. While some Tabriz rugs offer portraits of architectural wonders, those are far rarer and should be sought by any true rug collector, at least for a memorable glance. This semi-antique Tabriz features a central medallion with one such architectural depiction with portraits framed in medallions on each end, including Cyrus the Great. The result is a stunning example of artistry and the Tabiz's rich, prominent history in the Persian empire.
