Description
The Sarouk namesake is a village located 25 miles north of Arak (formerly Sultanabad). This region was one of the most productive for rug weaving featuring the coveted designs of Farahan, the most famous Sarouk designer. These rugs are often referred to as Farahan rugs as a tribute to their creator. To compete with the popularity of rugs crafted in Kashan, Farhan created a center medallion motif. Today, most of the antique Sarouks fabricated during the late 19th century are referred to as Farahan Sarouks.

Hand-knotted Persian Sarouks are often considered the most luxurious, high-quality rugs from the Arak region. These rugs feature deep color palettes just like the rust and navy accents featured in this collectible Sarouk. This Persian Sarouk faithfully explores the curvilinear floral vases and medallion motifs reminiscent of the traditional Persian weavers. The exquisitely detailed border encapsulates the grandiosity of the central medallion. Look no further for a Persian rug that culminates tradition and style.
